Volunteer Positions
Please choose as many areas you want to volunteer in or learn more about:
Nursery Volunteers: These people will play, read, and entertain babies and preschool students in the nursery during the service. Time commitment: 1-2xmonth.
Choir Leaders: These people will choose a song (multiple languages and cultures welcome) that the students will learn for 3 weeks and then preform in the worship service. Choir Leaders will also teach the students memory verses each month. Time commitment: 1 month at a time
Bible Teachers: These people will help the Choir Leaders by playing games and crafts with elementary kids until choir begins. After singing, the Bible teachers will read the given Bible story and have the students retell the story or help act it out. Bible Teachers will help reinforce the monthly memory verse. Time commitment: 1xmonth
Student Volunteer: Middle School and High School students who would like to help either with the Kids’ Choir or Nursery are encouraged to serve. You will support the adult teachers and help walk preschoolers who want to sing in the choir up and down the stairs. Time commitment: 1xmonth
Discussion Leaders for Teens: These people will grow in a friendship with our teens by reading the Bible and talking about how to follow Jesus. Time commitment: 1-2xmonth, minimal preparation outside of Sunday
Children In-Service Leaders: These people will organize a place that parents can bring their young children to play quietly while in the worship service. These people will also help create activity pages for students to work on during Kingdom Sunday and Family Sundays. Time commitment: flexible, 1-2xmonth
Check-in Greeters: These people will greet families before the worship service, register children in Nursery and Kids Choir, and help print security stickers for parents and children. Time commitment: Before service, 1-2x month
Mentors: These people will be paired with a highschooler or young adult, who has asked for a mentor, to meet with outside the Sunday worship service. The goal of these relationships is to listen, answer questions, and to disciple young adults in the way of King Jesus in today’s world and culture. Time commitment: flexible yet regular meetings
Background Check and Expenses Coordinators: These people will be trained to run background checks on all adult volunteers wishing to meet or teach students. This person will also be in charge of purchasing items for the Kids Ministry. Time commitment: flexible and occasional.
Kids Ministry Coordinators: These people will be in charge of helping schedule the Choir Leaders, the Bible Teachers, and Nursery Volunteers each month along with coordinating with the Choir Leaders to help choose the Bible stories and memory verses the students will be learning each week. Time commitment: flexible, every 3months.
Sunday Morning Coordinators: These people will need to be in communication with the church leaders of both Centerpoint and Gracia to make sure the scheduler knows the plan for the upcoming Sunday services and the shared children’s classrooms. These people will also help coordinate with the Music Team to schedule the Kids’ Choir performances. Time commitment: flexible and occasional.
